It is already that time in the year to elect our new Residence Hall Association (RHA) executive board. This year's executive board made waves at the state and regional levels - winning awards over Georgia Tech and UGA!
Being on executive board is a great way to impact your residential community, and gain some leadership experience. You get to organize and execute the programs and events that you and your fellow residents want. In addition, many of the executive board members will attend most if not every state, regional and national RHA conferences!
Below are the positions up for elections:
President -
a. To serve as the primary student representative
of RHA.
b. To serve as chief executive in all RHA business.
c. To call and preside over meetings of the
Executive Board.
d. To create detailed agendas for all sessions of
the Executive Board.
e. To direct the Executive Officers.
f. To establish and direct committees of RHA as
necessary.
g. To serve as ex-officio member on all RHA
committees.
h. To serve as the RHA representative on external
committees, or to appoint a representative in his or her stead.
i. To learn the RHA Constitution in full.
a. To serve as appointed representative to
committees in the President’s stead.
b. To oversee elections.
c. To maintain important records of official RHA
business, including accurate accounts of meeting minutes and all legislation
approved.
d. To maintain accurate accounting records and fund
requisitions for RHA.
e. To, in conjunction with the President, create
the annual RHA budget.
f. To learn the RHA Constitution in full.
a. To coordinate and update RHA's website, email and social media platforms.
b. To organize and execute monthly events.
c. Contact and interact with media and local media outlets as necessary..
d. To serve as the main contact for other registered student organizations and departments on campus.
e. Attend monthly SGA meetings, in conjunction with the Senator of Residential Life.
f. Attend all conferences (NACURH, SACURH, GRHO).
g. Advertise all meetings and events on behalf of RHA.
a. To affiliate Dalton State College with the
following conferences: the South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University
Residence Halls (SAACURH), and the National Association of College and
University Residence Halls (NACURH).
b. To organize delegations to attend the annual
conferences of SAACURH and NACURH, including delegate recruitment and
selection, travel and lodging, reviewing delegate program submissions, and
writing post conference reports.
c. To attend the annual SAACURH No Frills business
conference.
d. To vote on behalf of RHA in the state, regional,
and national boardrooms, and to appropriately and professionally represent the
views of the students at Dalton State College.
e. To complete the annual report to the National
Information Center (NIC).
f. To determine, by the first of October of each
year, the state, regional, and national awards for which RHA shall submit bids,
and to supervise the bid-writing process.
g. To learn the RHA Constitution in full.
